Just make sure to use fresh lime juice as bottled lime juice can have a bitter taste.<\/li>\n<li><strong>garlic<\/strong>\u00a0\u2013 you can use fresh chopped garlic cloves or minced garlic from the jar.<\/li>\n<li><strong>honey<\/strong> \u2013 adds a touch of sweetness without using refined sugar. You could also easily make this chicken marinade in a food processor and skip chopping the cilantro.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Prepare chicken.\u00a0<\/strong>\u00a0Place chicken in a shallow dish or a 1-gallon sealable plastic bag and pour most of the cilantro lime marinade over the chicken. I always suggest reserving a little bit of the sauce to <a href=\"https:\/\/urlgeni.us\/amzn\/Jf0hs\">brush<\/a> on the chicken later while grilling!<\/li>\n<li><strong>Marinate!\u00a0<\/strong>\u00a0Place chicken in the fridge and let it marinate for at least 30 minutes, but no longer than 2 hours. Lime is very acidic and will start to breakdown the chicken\u2019s texture so you don\u2019t want to marinate this too long.\u00a0When ready to grill, remove chicken from the dish or bag, shake off any excess and discard leftover marinade.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Grill and serve.\u00a0<\/strong>\u00a0Heat a grill or <a href=\"https:\/\/urlgeni.us\/amzn\/4nvb\">grill pan<\/a> on medium to medium-high heat and <a href=\"https:\/\/urlgeni.us\/amzn\/Jf0hs\">brush grill<\/a> with oil to prevent the chicken from sticking.\u00a0Grill the chicken 5 to 6 minutes on each side, or until cooked through and no longer pink, brushing the reserved marinade over top as it cooks. The chicken should have an internal temp of 165 degrees using an\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/urlgeni.us\/amzn\/E1x0t\">instant-read thermometer<\/a>. Remove from the grill and let the chicken rest 5 minutes before serving.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Helpful Tips and Tricks<\/h2>\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Pound out the chicken breasts using a <a href=\"https:\/\/urlgeni.us\/amzn\/djgXe\">meat mallet<\/a> so that they are all even thickness to ensure they cook evenly.<\/li>\n<li>Marinate the chicken for at least 30 minutes, but no longer than 2 hours as the acidity from the lime juice will breakdown the chicken\u2019s exterior texture.
